Sun, June 13, 2004 - 4:38 PMlove them dearly, but i just don't like going to reserved seating shows where you have to *sit* through the whole show. then you can't dance. i saw some tuvan throat singers at the palace of fine arts - the venue is much better suited for that sort of thing. why can't the magnetic fields be playing at great american music hall? sigh. oh well, at least i'll save $30.

Wed, July 21, 2004 - 12:17 PMi saw the show too. it was great, and my friends and i were discussing how it kind of felt like we were just hanging out with sam and claudia while they played for us, rather than attending a concert.
i liked the venue a lot too. the music was perfectly mellow and beautiful for the surruondings.
and they ended (pre-encore) with Papa was a Rodeo and damn do i love that song.
(kinda liked that Heather song too . har) -

Thu, July 22, 2004 - 11:34 AMMy girlfriend and I were saying the exact same thing, how it was so wonderfully informal and felt like the band were interacting with you. And I loved when they ended with their dramatic interpretation of "Yeah, Oh Yeah". The opening guy from Austrialia was great too. -
